Ode to the ten month old

a winkling of the nose and
five pearly whites appear then
the grin turns into a laugh

action makes the music sound
*if your happy and you know it*
the little tushy begins to wiggle
and shake

the silver, regal queen-of-the-couch
ignites excited squeals accompanying
a fast-paced approach on hands and knees
(to the abhorrence of the royalty)

a solid Red Radio Flyer sparks
walking interest across the carpet

the toy box and the fireplace roadblock
yet magically
the wagon turns around and begins
once
again
